Quropedia is a curiosity-driven digital publication covering science, space, history, technology, philosophy, nature, the human mind, ancient civilizations and other questions worth exploring. Our website address is https://quropedia.com/.
What information we collect
Quropedia may receive information you voluntarily provide, such as an email address when you subscribe to our newsletter or information you send when contacting us. We may also receive technical information such as browser type, device information, approximate location derived from IP address, and pages viewed through our hosting, security, analytics and performance services.
Analytics
We may use analytics services to understand how visitors use Quropedia, including which pages are viewed, how visitors arrive at the site, and general engagement and performance information. These services may use cookies or similar technologies. We use this information to improve the publication and understand audience interests; it is not intended to identify individual visitors personally.
Newsletter
If you subscribe to the Quropedia newsletter, your email address and any information you provide through the subscription form may be processed by our email marketing provider, currently Hostinger Reach, for subscriber management and email delivery. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the unsubscribe mechanism provided in those emails.
Cookies
Quropedia and services used on the site may use cookies or similar technologies for essential site functions, security, analytics, preferences and embedded content. You can control cookies through your browser settings, although disabling some cookies may affect site functionality.
Embedded content
Articles may include embedded content from third-party services such as video and social platforms. Embedded content can behave as though you visited the third-party service directly. Those providers may collect information, use cookies and apply their own privacy policies.
Quron accounts and member features
If you create a Quron account, Quropedia may process information needed to operate that account, such as your username, display name, email address, profile image, account settings and notification preferences. Member features can also store activity needed to provide the service, including saved discoveries, reading status, private notes, collections, questions, polls, follows, streaks, Curiosity XP, achievements and related participation data.
Private account information, saved content, note content, detailed activity and Curiosity DNA are not published as part of the public Explorer directory. Explorer discovery is opt-in, and members can change their directory visibility from account settings.
Quron Club, Forum and public contributions
Quropedia uses Quron Club and Quron Forum for community discussion rather than native WordPress comments. Questions, polls, forum posts and other contributions that are intended for the community may be visible to other visitors or members together with the public display name or profile identity you use. Do not submit sensitive personal information in public community areas.
Community content may be stored and processed for display, moderation, abuse prevention, safety, support and operation of the community features.
Spam and abuse prevention
Quropedia uses Google reCAPTCHA v3 on selected account and community actions to help distinguish legitimate activity from automated abuse. When reCAPTCHA is used, Google may process technical, device, browser, network and interaction information for security and abuse-prevention purposes. Google reCAPTCHA is subject to Google’s applicable Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. Quropedia also uses account authentication, WordPress security nonces, honeypot techniques where available and rate limits as additional protections.
Member emails and service notifications
Quropedia may send account, security, achievement, activity, digest or weekly recap emails when those messages are required for the service or enabled in your Quron notification preferences. WordPress email is routed through our configured transactional email system, currently FluentSMTP with Brevo as the delivery provider. Newsletter marketing remains separate and is managed through the newsletter subscription system.
Who we share information with
We may share information with service providers that help us host, secure, analyse, operate and communicate through Quropedia. We do not sell personal information as a standalone product. Third-party services operate under their own privacy policies.
How long we retain information
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, to provide services, maintain records, resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, or protect the site.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights concerning access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal information, as well as the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information handled through the website. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
